Healthcare Innovation & Creativity

Rising demand / Lower resources / Traditional methods

You know, many healthcare organisations and systems across the world are having to deal with the same issues.

- Rising demand for services

- Less resources

- Traditional structures for service delivery

Starting from the point of asking questions rather than offering answers. One does have to ask:

Are we doing enough within global healthcare industries to innovate / create and share knowledge ?

Is the left brain model for delivering healthcare inhibiting the opportunities for future and flexible growth ?

For anybody out there who can contribute ideas or feeds on this topic, please contribute.

Innovation & Creativity Sucks

What a waste of time and effort !!

Now i have your attention.....(did you think, wow and alternative view on all the text which promotes all this rubbish right brain stuff)...

I hope i don't dissapoint, you know, quite often creativity and innovation starts with the simple breaking of an habit or pattern of work.It also starts with you wanting to search for another view or perspective on similar subjects... We get so used to doing the same things, day in day out, we just 'do'...............We should try to ask the question each day, 'What can i/we do differently today ?'..........This small start, works wonders in bucking your traditional perspective on  the world........

So, TODAY, i've asked the question to myself, 'Innovation & Creativity Sucks'.........

Ask yourself the same thing and write down the benefits for and against,,,,,,go on do it !! I'll let you know how i get on...

For now........See ya

Creativity MYTH 1

The Young are more creative than the old ?.....................

Reality - Age is not a predictor of creative potential. Research shows that it usually takes seven to ten years to build up deep expertise in a given field - the kind of expertise that enables you to perceive patterns of order or meaning that are invisable to the novice. THUS,,,,,,in the business world, the necessary creativity can be found in an adult of any age.

However, at the same time, expertise can inhibit creativity BECAUSE...........EXPERTS often find it difficult to see or think outside established patterns.................

Have you done anything different today ?

A climate of innovation

Managers and Leaders determine the organisational climate.

Innovative organisations have the following characteristics:

  1. Managers send a clear message that the well-being of the company and its employees depends on continuous innovation.
  2. People aren't afraid to try or suggest new things
  3. No one feels a sense of entitlement for just showing up for work
  4. There is a discomfort with current success - a nagging sense, there is more success to be had.
  5. People rise and fall on their merits and contributions
  6. Employees are outward looking: They seek ideas and best practices among competitors, through professional contacts, and in other industries.

If your company lacks these characteristics, change now before it's too late !!!!!
